While you are visiting Burgundy, join us for a market tour and convivial cooking class/dining experience inspired by the season.  We’ll meet in the morning to explore the local market where we will select the ingredients for your cooking class.  As the class begins, crisp white aprons accompany a glass of chilled crémant, the region’s sparkling wine, in celebration of the bounty of Burgundy.

The menu is market-inspired and highlights the small artisan food producers of the region.  We prepare lunch together and learn classic techniques you can use at home.  After the cooking class, you’ll sit down for a five-course lunch with wine specifically chosen to compliment the menu.  You are also welcome to bring a favorite bottle of wine and there is no corkage fee.  You will learn the secrets of shopping and cooking as the French do, cooking with the seasons and enjoy a convivial lunch with other like-minded people.  This is our “foodie” program and depending on the time of year you make your reservation, the size of the group can be from 2 to 10 people.  To see a sample menu, please click here.

The Cook’s Atelier offers the perfect culinary program in the heart of Burgundy and gives you a chance to learn about the culinary traditions, culture and lifestyle of the region from a cook’s view.  For the more serious cook, The Cook’s Atelier workshop series gives you the opportunity to learn the specific skills of a French cook and is available as a one, three or five day program.  Each workshop is personalized depending on your area of interest.  We could spend the day learning the Burgundian classics, basic charcuterie, French pastry or the art of making French confiture.

This program gives the more serious cook the opportunity to spend time immersed in all the little details that makes living and  cooking in France so special. In addition to the hands-on cooking class, we will visit a local market or one of our favorite artisan food producers.  Depending on the season, we may spend a morning learning about the art of beekeeping, visit an artisan cheese maker or take a field trip to a sustainable farm. This program is designed for small groups and includes a five-course lunch with wine specifically chosen to compliment the menu.

*This program is available year round by reservation, but if you’d like to join a five day scheduled workshop, we have space available for the following 2013 dates:

The Cook’s Atelier is available for private dinner parties for small groups.  Guests enjoy dinner at a long, zinc topped, French farm table set with crystal stemware, fresh flowers and plenty of candlelight.  The five-course menu is market-inspired and made from scratch.  We do most of the cooking, but guests are welcome in the kitchen to finish up the last minute details of the evening’s menu or simply enjoy a glass of wine while observing an impromptu lesson on how to make a beurre blanc.  The price includes wine.  Guests are welcome to bring a favorite bottle of wine and there is no corkage fee.
